Charlie Logan is the search Incident Commander.
In early May a small team including dog teams led by Janet Wilts did a preliminary search of the river as soon as it opened up from the snow and ice. (Refer to the Updates section for the most recent happenings.)
The Search will focus on three areas.
Most searchers will be needed to cover an average of ten to fifteen miles per day.
The terrain consists of a well established trails and off trail hiking on steep slopes with many boulders. The river is also surrounded by boulders.
During the spring/summer we can expect cold temperatures during the evenings and mornings with warmer temperatures throughout the day. Much of the search area gets little sunshine in the canyon area and along the river.
